Kathmandu: In a significant development, the National Assembly has passed the government's policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24. During a session of the upper house in the Federal Parliament, the majority approved the policies and programmes that were initially presented before the joint session on May 20 by President Ramchandra Paudel.
While deliberating on the proposals, several amendment suggestions from lawmakers Tulasa Kumari Dahal, Bimala Ghimire, and Dr. Bimala Rai Poudyal were rejected by the majority. The decision highlights the prevailing consensus and agreement among the majority of the members regarding the government's vision for the next fiscal year.
Before the endorsement took place, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal addressed questions raised by the upper house lawmakers, providing clarifications and further insights into the policies and programmes. The session allowed for a fruitful exchange of ideas and ensured that concerns were adequately addressed.
